A foreign worker in his 30s was taken to hospital after suffering an electrical accident at an air-cushion manufacturing plant in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, on August 24. According to fire authorities, the emergency call came at about 5:35 p.m. from a factory in Maesan-dong and reported an electrocution while machinery was being operated.
Responders found the worker in cardiac arrest and transported him to a nearby hospital. Subsequent reporting said he was recovering. The available reports did not establish what part of the machine or electrical system caused the shock, so the precise mechanism remains under investigation.
Police said they would investigate the circumstances of the accident.
