Busan Children's Grand Park
A vast forest park in central Busan where children’s play areas sit beside the historic Seongjigok Reservoir and an hour-long walking loop
Reservoir walking, forest paths, playground time, picnics, seasonal water play and longer links toward Baegyangsan
A very large wooded park on a mountain slope, organized around Seongjigok Reservoir, forest trails, children’s play areas, picnic spaces and seasonal water play
Families can combine a playground stop with a full reservoir circuit without leaving the park
The park opens into a reservoir walk
Busan Children's Grand Park climbs into the forest between Baegyangsan and Geumjeongsan. Seongjigok Reservoir sits well inside the park, reached after an uphill approach lined with cedar, hinoki cypress and fir; beyond that first climb, the walking gradient becomes gentler
A full circuit around the reservoir takes about an hour. Parts of the route use decked paths beside the water, and the loop also connects with longer walking routes toward Baegyangsan
The reservoir predates the children's park. Its old dam, catchment and water-supply system survive as registered cultural property beside the walking route, so the park's waterworks history is still physically present around the circuit
The amusement rides closed; the forest became the main setting
The park once had a conventional amusement area, but those rides closed in 2012. Kid Kideuk Park and a few playground pockets now provide the main child-focused stops; around them are the reservoir circuit, picnic areas and long forest paths across a park of almost five million square metres
A family can spend most of the visit at the playground or continue into a much longer walk around the water. The difference in scale is visible as soon as the built play areas give way to trees and paths
The park's name can therefore suggest something more compact than the place itself. Most of the grounds are landscape rather than rides or indoor attractions
Summer play centers on a 15-metre water rocket
Kid Kideuk Park is the main child-focused play area in summer. Its water-play zone is built around a 15-metre water-rocket structure, with other elements based on Busan landmarks such as Gwangandaegyo Bridge, Oryukdo and lighthouses
Outside the water-play season, the same area functions as a dry playground. A nearby folk-game area and outdoor shower booths sit alongside the play zone, while the surrounding park remains centered on walking, picnics and the reservoir
The water-rocket area is physically compact compared with the scale of the whole park, which is why the transition from playground to forest path happens quickly
Before you go
From the Children's Grand Park Entrance bus stop, the walk to Kid Kideuk Park is about 25 minutes, and the road toward the children's center is uphill. That gives stroller users a useful measure of the effort: reaching the playground already involves a substantial approach before any reservoir circuit is added

- Park walking paths are open 24 hours year-round. Individual facilities inside the park can keep separate hours
- Admission
- General park admission is free. Parking and some separately operated facilities may charge their own fees

- No reservation is needed for the park. Kid Kideuk water play is seasonal; its 2026 summer season ended August 16. The former zoo area is being redeveloped under Busan’s public-zoo project and is not a normal walk-in zoo attraction during the current redevelopment period
