Shinhwa Theme Park
Shinhwa Theme Park is Jeju Shinhwa World's open-air amusement park, built around Larva and Oscar animated characters, with a spinning coaster and family rides across three themed zones
Dancing Oscar spinning coaster, Oscar's Dragon, Buck's Dance, Larva carousel, 4D theater, character playgrounds and themed streets
Open-air Rotary Park, Oscar's New World and Larva's Adventure Village within the Jeju Shinhwa World resort; the water park is separate
The crucial decision happens before paying: its grounds are free to enter, but the bigger rides require passes and have height limits that can split a family group
A roller coaster inside an animated world
Dancing Oscar climbs above the themed buildings before dropping into fast bends and spinning turns. Dancing Oscar has a 120-centimetre height minimum. It serves a different audience from the gentler Larva rides elsewhere in the park
Oscar's New World also has Oscar's Dragon, a spinning dragon-themed ride, and Oscar's Spin'n Bump, which combines a winding track with jolting motion. Buck's Dance places riders in turning pink teacups. These are physical thrills, not simply character-themed photo opportunities
The designs draw on the Korean animation characters Oscar, Buck, Wingcle Bear and Larva. Their exaggerated faces give the park a recognizable Korean character identity instead of the usual anonymous resort rides
Three zones and two ways to pay
Rotary Park marks the entrance, Oscar's New World groups the stronger rides, and Larva's Adventure Village offers gentler attractions featuring the yellow and red cartoon larvae. Named options include Larva's Sweet Carousel, Flying Larva and Larva's Space Adventure
The park's gate is open to visitors without collecting a complimentary admission ticket. Ride Passes are sold separately at ticket booths, selected counters and kiosks. Certain Rotary Park experiences are also free. That means an accompanying adult can enter to walk with a child without assuming every visit needs a full-price unlimited pass
Height rules matter. Dancing Oscar and Oscar's Dragon list 120 centimetres, while Buck's Dance lists 105 centimetres. Other attractions have different restrictions, so the same pass does not make every ride suitable for every child
Why the cartoon cast belongs here
Shinhwa Theme Park opened on 30 September 2017 as an early part of the larger Jeju Shinhwa World resort. A collaboration with Korean studio TUBAn shaped the opening zones around Larva, Oscar, Buck and Wingcle Bear. The animated cast was the design premise from the beginning, not a later layer of branding
Its three-zone layout lets smaller children use cartoon-themed attractions while older visitors can choose the coaster and spinning rides. The neighboring resort includes hotels and restaurants; the separately operated Shinhwa Water Park requires its own visit planning
Before you go
A group with different child heights can divide time between Oscar's New World and Larva's Adventure Village, then meet on the open streets. Dancing Oscar is the clearest reason for coaster enthusiasts to visit, whereas younger children have more use for character rides and playgrounds
Free access to the grounds does not mean unlimited rides are free. Pass types and ride operation can change, especially with weather and seasonal resort schedules. Individual height restrictions matter more than old ticket prices
