LG is pitching a different role for artificial intelligence: not simply answering questions, but working through specialized industrial and scientific problems. At its AI Talk Concert, the company highlighted an expert-AI approach designed to operate on domain data and structured tasks where a useful result depends on more than fluent text generation.
Among the examples presented, LG said an AI system reviewed about 420,000 compounds and identified a hair-loss prevention candidate in one day. The company also described medical research workflows in which parts of diagnosis or treatment-design work that could take roughly four weeks were compressed to about a day. Those examples are demonstrations rather than proof that every industrial workflow can be accelerated at the same rate.
The business question is whether such systems can become repeatable tools inside research, manufacturing and professional operations. That requires reliable data, validation by domain experts and clear responsibility for decisions. LG's case is notable because it moves the AI conversation away from consumer assistants and toward measurable work inside laboratories and companies.
