SK hynix has dismissed four newly hired employees after they violated rules during a company training program, including drinking alcohol during the training period. The company confirmed disciplinary action after reviewing the incidents.
Two employees at affiliated SK group companies who were linked to the same episode reportedly received pay cuts rather than dismissal.
According to Korean reporting, the affected workers were given an opportunity to explain the circumstances before final disciplinary decisions were made. The case therefore moved through an internal review process rather than an immediate termination decision.
The incident highlights how major Korean employers enforce conduct rules during residential or structured new-hire programs, where participants remain subject to company policies before beginning regular assignments.
