E-World and 83 Tower share one address but operate as two leisure products: the park concentrates rides, flower festivals and evening illumination, while the tower adds skyline views, dining and indoor attractions above the same Duryu-dong campus

That split is the useful way to understand the place. E-World works on the scale of a full theme-park day, with outdoor rides and seasonal programming spread across the hillside. The 202-meter tower is a separate landmark within the complex, with its own operating hours and facilities. A visit can center on either layer or combine both without treating every ticket or timetable as universal

The experience

The park uses Duryusan’s slope as part of its layout, so elevation and trees give the grounds a different feel from a flat amusement park. Major rides, performance areas, gardens and seasonal light installations occupy the outdoor campus, with the tower visible from much of it as a constant orientation point

83 Tower changes the scale from amusement park to city panorama. Its upper levels look across Daegu from a hill already elevated above the surrounding districts, while lower floors have been used for restaurants, exhibitions and other indoor attractions. The former Skyway cable car once connected the amusement area and tower directly; that service ended in 2022, so it should no longer be assumed as part of circulation

The strongest contrast comes late in the day. E-World has built much of its identity around illumination and seasonal night programming, while the tower turns the same evening into a wide city view. Families can make the park the main event; visitors interested mainly in the skyline can treat the tower as a shorter destination

History

The leisure complex took shape in the early 1990s. The tower was completed in 1992 by local construction company Woobang as Woobang Tower, and the surrounding theme-park project opened in 1995. The tower’s 202-meter structure, set on elevated ground, quickly became one of the most recognizable elements of Daegu’s skyline

Ownership and branding changed after E-Land acquired Woobang Tower Land in 2010. The tower was renamed 83 Tower in 2011, a reference to the height of its top being equivalent to an 83rd floor, while the amusement park developed under the E-World name

The campus has continued to change its internal mechanics. The Skyway cable car had linked the park and tower since 1992, but E-World ended the service in May 2022 as it reworked attractions and transport inside the park. That closure is a useful marker of how the destination has shifted from its Woobang-era infrastructure while keeping the tower itself as the visual anchor

Decide whether the park or the tower is the main purpose before choosing a ticket and timing. E-World publishes a date-specific operating calendar, while 83 Tower keeps its own schedule and individual tower facilities can have separate charges. The official park map and same-day calendar are more useful than treating the whole campus as one attraction with one opening time
