Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province will begin a 1-night, 2-day tourism program in September that links the UNESCO-listed Jisan-dong Tumuli with Daegaya history, local food, accommodation and hands-on experiences. The program, titled 'World Heritage and Gaya Culture in the Ancient Capital,' is scheduled to run 15 times and includes gayageum activities, museums, royal-tomb trails, rural experiences and the traditional market.
This year's itinerary adds evening visits to Daegaya Arboretum and a music fountain, making the package explicitly about keeping visitors in the area after daytime sightseeing ends. That matters for smaller heritage destinations because overnight stays generally create more opportunities for spending than short stopovers. The program is therefore both a cultural-tourism product and a test of whether Goryeong can convert heritage recognition into longer local stays.
