The Daegu-Gyeongbuk metropolitan railway has passed the government’s preliminary feasibility review. The planned 70.06 km route would run from Seodaegu through Donggumi and Gunwi, serving the future TK airport, before reaching Uiseong. Korean reporting says 64.97 km would be newly built as double track, with an estimated total project cost of about 3.18 trillion won.

The approval removes a major planning hurdle, but design, funding and construction schedules still have to follow.
