A review of non-face-to-face financial accident compensation found that fewer than one in ten applicants received payments, with the money covering about 18% of reported losses. Under the Financial Supervisory Service’s responsibility-sharing standard, transfers made directly by customers after being deceived are excluded from compensation. The findings mean that whether the victim or a scammer pressed the transfer button can determine whether any payment is available.
