The valuation of the National Pension Service’s disclosed domestic stock holdings fell by about 182 trillion won in roughly 100 days, according to data cited by Maeil Shinmun. Financial information provider FnGuide compared holdings reported at 5% or more in 287 listed companies on June 30 and October 15. Samsung Electronics and SK hynix were identified as major drivers because together they account for about half of the KOSPI’s market capitalization and faced concerns over slowing artificial intelligence demand and Chinese memory competition.

The figure represents a comparison of disclosed holdings valuations, not a confirmed loss across the National Pension Service’s entire portfolio.
