Homeplus has withdrawn a voluntary retirement program two days before scheduled departures, leaving about 400 applicants employed after the company cited changed business circumstances. The company also postponed payment of the remaining 75% of August wages, which had been due on October 30, without setting a new payment date.

The withdrawal means promised unpaid wages, a Chuseok bonus and severance linked to the retirement plan will not be paid on the originally announced schedule, deepening employee uncertainty as the union considers its response.
