ENHYPEN’s eighth EP, The Sin : Bliss, sold 1.77 million copies on its first day, according to Hanteo Chart. The release topped Hanteo’s daily album ranking after arriving on August 21 and also reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in 23 countries and regions, including Brazil, Japan, Malaysia and Turkey. The result gives ENHYPEN an immediate commercial marker for the group’s first release since reorganizing as a six-member act. The 10-track EP is led by Bloody Paradise and also includes the B-side Two Fools.
First-day sales do not determine a release’s full run, but they are a useful early measure of the size and activation of a K-pop group’s buying fandom. The next figures to watch are the EP’s first-week total and its performance on major international album charts, which will show whether the strong opening converts into broader chart longevity.
