NewJeans has passed 8 billion cumulative streams on Spotify, extending one of the strongest catalog runs among its K-pop generation.
ADOR said the group had reached 8.02 billion cumulative streams as of August 18, counting every song released since NewJeans debuted in July 2022.
The milestone is especially notable because the group has not released new music since the Japanese single “Supernatural” in June 2024. NewJeans crossed 5 billion Spotify streams in September 2024, meaning existing tracks added roughly another 3 billion plays over the following two years.
Catalog growth without a comeback
Songs including “Ditto” and “OMG” have continued to attract listeners during the release gap. That makes the 8 billion figure less a measure of one comeback spike than of sustained consumption across an established catalog.
The next comparison will come when the group returns to a regular release schedule: new music would show whether that persistent catalog audience can convert into another growth cycle.
