BLACKPINK's Lisa won Best Pop at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards for her single "Dream," featuring Japanese actor Sakaguchi Kentaro. The award was presented at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 27 local time.

The win makes Lisa the first Asian solo artist to receive the Best Pop prize and the second Asian artist overall to win the category. It adds another solo milestone to a career that has continued alongside her work with BLACKPINK.

"Dream" was the work recognized by MTV this year, and Lisa attended the ceremony in person to accept the award. The result gives the song a major U.S. awards credential while extending the visibility of Korean pop artists in mainstream global categories.

The award also stands out because Best Pop is not a K-pop-specific category. Lisa's win therefore places a Korean pop soloist in a field judged alongside artists from the wider international pop market.
