A major road beside the Coupang logistics center in Incheon Seohae-gu has fully reopened after being restricted for 78 days. Bongsu-daero returned to normal traffic at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, ending a disruption that began after a July 18 warehouse fire raised concerns that damaged exterior sandwich panels could fall or scatter onto the roadway.
The closure and restrictions forced detours and added congestion for residents and workers using the area. District officials say safety measures around the damaged building have now been completed to the point that the road can operate normally again.
A long disruption ends
The reopening is a practical recovery milestone from the fire rather than the end of every consequence from the incident. Local authorities still have to manage the damaged site and any remaining restoration work, but drivers regain the direct route that had been unavailable for more than two months.
