Preparing a traditional Chuseok ritual table in Daegu is expected to cost about 307,320 won for four people this year when ingredients are bought at a traditional market. The Korea Price Association estimate is 4.4 percent higher than a year earlier.
Daegu had the second-highest cost among the six major cities surveyed, behind Incheon. The six-city traditional-market average was about 303,750 won, putting Daegu roughly 3,570 won above the average.
Holiday food inflation remains visible at the market
The total reflects prices across 28 ceremonial-food items and gives households a practical benchmark before shopping. Individual bills will vary depending on family size, menu choices and where ingredients are purchased, but the comparison shows that the holiday meal remains more expensive than last year.
Traditional markets can still offer different pricing from large retailers, so the estimate is best treated as a reference point rather than a fixed household cost. For families planning purchases, comparing key items early may matter more this year as some food prices remain elevated.
