Large apartment complexes will begin separating milk and other paper cartons from general recyclables under a new collection system. A voluntary rollout starts in October across about 144,000 apartment buildings and related complexes. Mandatory separation begins January 1 for properties covered by Korea's apartment-management rules, including complexes with 300 or more households. The change is intended to improve recovery of high-value paper-carton material.
