Daegu will reduce city-bus service during the Chuseok holiday as the city expects passenger demand to fall. Of the city's 127 routes, 25 will receive additional service reductions, with 314 buses removed from normal operation.

Depending on the route, the number of daily trips will fall by as many as 35 and the number of buses assigned to a route by as many as eight. The city says the reductions are allowed under transport rules that permit service cuts when demand drops on weekends, public holidays and school breaks.

What it means

Passengers traveling during the holiday should expect longer gaps on affected routes, especially outside peak periods. The practical impact will vary by line, so the relevant route timetable matters more than the citywide total.
