Korea is extending the Modu Card off-peak incentive through December after transport officials said it helped spread demand outside the busiest commute periods. Trips during designated shoulder periods receive an extra 30 percentage points of refund, taking the standard rate for ordinary users from 20% to 50%.
Eligible windows include 5:30 to 6:30 a.m., 9 to 10 a.m., 4 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. The government has also included funding in next year's budget proposal to continue the program.
