KTX and SRT tickets can now be booked from 7 a.m. two months before departure, one month earlier than under the previous schedule. The change, effective October 1, gives passengers more time to secure seats for year-end and weekend trips.
However, canceling a weekend ticket shortly before departure incurs a penalty equal to 20% of the fare. Travelers booking early should therefore check both the opening time and the cancellation deadline before reserving a seat.
