Korea has designated two types of medical devices needed for peritoneal dialysis in newborns and children as urgently needed devices with limited domestic alternatives. The designation covers Merit Medical’s PD Catheter and Utah Medical Products’ Dialy-Nate Set and Dialy-Nate Catheter, equipment used to circulate dialysis fluid through the abdomen and remove waste from the blood.
The status simplifies import procedures for the products, bringing the total number of devices designated under the system to 43.
