Gimhae Lotte Water Park
A large Gimhae water park with a 38-metre artificial volcano, giant wave pool, rafting slides and a separate indoor complex
Wave swimming, raft rides, water coasters, children's pools, winter indoor swimming and seasonal tube sledding
An extensive Jangyu campus split between outdoor volcanic wave and raft zones, an indoor water park and a separate Magic Hook slope
The giant outdoor rides deliver the spectacle, while heated indoor pools and Magic Hook give the park a worthwhile second life beyond summer
A wave pool beneath a volcano
At Gimhae Lotte Water Park, a 38-metre artificial volcano towers above an outdoor wave pool roughly 120 metres wide and 135 metres long. Waves roll towards a beach-style shore, giving the park its huge South Pacific-themed centrepiece
For a different kind of thrill, Rapid River carries rafts through about 370 metres of rushing water. Water Coaster sends riders along a 300-metre course with repeated climbs and drops. Giant Boomerango swings up to six people in a raft along a broad curved chute, while Tornado Slide sends a raft around a funnel. Each ride offers a different sensation, from swift current to sudden changes in direction
Families will also find smaller pools and the Giant Aqua Flex play structure with buckets that tip water over the children below. Height restrictions and raft capacities vary by ride, making the gentler zones an easier starting point for mixed-age groups
How the water park kept growing
Lotte opened its first Gimhae phase on 30 May 2014, with 24 attractions on a 122,777-square-metre site. Nineteen more arrived in June 2015, bringing the original count to 43. The expansion added longer raft and coaster rides, giving visitors more options beyond the beach-like wave pool
A later addition makes Gimhae particularly interesting outside the hottest months. Magic Hook opened in 2025 as a four-season tube-sled attraction. The family slope runs straight for about 85 metres from an 11-metre height. The Giant slope starts about 15 metres up and curves through a 105-metre route. In summer, water is sprayed onto the slope and the landing area can become a pool, turning the sled run into a water-tubing ride. In cooler weather, it works as a dry tube slide. Magic Hook has its own ticket arrangements
The indoor park has its own season
Inside, Tiki Wave is a substantial heated wave pool, approximately 38 by 35 metres at its widest points. Nearby are the Tiki River current pool, spa areas, children's play pools and several slides. This is the main draw when the outdoor wave pool and large raft rides are resting for the season
The two halves of the park follow different operating calendars. In winter, indoor swimming and Magic Hook have run while the big outdoor water rides were closed. During summer, the full outdoor programme offers a much larger day out. Ride-by-ride opening information is important even in warm weather
Admission also changes with the season. Published adult all-day rates include โฉ56,000 in High Season and โฉ75,000 in Gold Season, with reduced child and afternoon tickets. Prices, promotions and the choice of open zones vary, so the date and intended rides should guide ticket selection
Before you go
Gimhae Lotte Water Park is in the Jangyu district, near Lotte's shopping and resort facilities. The hotel has its own swimming amenities and a guest passage to the park; those arrangements do not automatically cover a public water-park admission
Free parking makes driving straightforward. Bus 3-1 from the Gimhae Passenger Terminal area serves the wider Jangyu resort district, although the exact last walk to the entrance needs a current route check. Families carrying swimming gear may prefer a taxi for that final leg
