Character
In 2022, Korea JobWorld added Mechaive, an all-ages maker space for making, repair and direct experimentation. It expanded a campus originally built around school-age career halls into hands-on technical and creative work
Younger children still move through themed workplaces with guardians, while older students enter simulated job settings built around specific occupations. A separate Skilled Technology Experience Center adds hands-on practice in traditional, foundational and advanced technical skills
Newer spaces push further into future-facing careers, while the Career Design Hall uses aptitude activities and counseling to help visitors connect the experiences with actual educational or occupational choices
The experience
The Children Experience Hall is built for children from 48 months through fourth grade and runs in long session blocks with a guardian. The Youth Experience Hall uses shorter occupation-specific sessions in spaces modeled on real workplaces
Older school-age visitors can move into the Skilled Technology Experience Center, where programs are grouped around Korean technical skills, or into newer maker and future-career spaces. Mechaive is arranged as C Lounge, M Street, Y Class and K Ground, with equipment for hands-on projects; job-role simulation remains concentrated in the career halls
This is a large campus: the main building covers about 39,270 square metres, with the separate Skilled Technology Experience Center adding roughly 6,400 square metres. Choosing the right hall matters more than trying to cover everything in one visit
History
Korea JobWorld opened in May 2012 as a national career-experience institution. Its original structure centered on four functions: a World of Work exhibition, separate Children and Youth Experience Halls, and a Career Design Hall for aptitude testing and guidance
The first major physical expansion came in November 2020 with the Skilled Technology Experience Center. Its ten experience rooms were designed around traditional, foundational and advanced technical fields
Mechaive followed in June 2022. The 3,355-square-metre maker space brought more than 300 kinds of tools, materials and equipment into an all-ages environment organized around direct making
A Future Careers Hall opened in January 2026 with advanced-technology career experiences. In July that year, Korea JobWorld recorded its 10 millionth cumulative visitor, after passing seven million in 2023, eight million in 2024 and nine million in 2025
Before you go
A workable visit starts with the experience hall, since age eligibility, guardian rules and session length differ substantially across the campus. Popular role-play halls use advance booking, and walk-up visitors are limited to whatever capacity remains
- Hours
- Regular campus hours are 09:00–18:30. Closed Sundays, January 1, Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays; individual experience halls may use their own session schedules
- Admission
- There is no single campus ticket: experiences are reserved and priced separately. The standard Children Experience Hall booking currently lists ₩18,000 per child and ₩9,000 per guardian; other halls have their own fees
- Access
- Advance online reservation is standard, with walk-up participation only when capacity remains. Age limits vary by hall; the Children Experience Hall is for ages 48 months through fourth grade and requires a guardian

- Sunae Station Exit 3 on the Suin–Bundang Line is about 800 metres away. From Jeongja Station, about 1.2 kilometres away, bus 220 serves the Korea JobWorld stop
