Former lawmaker Kim Young-sun received a one-year prison sentence suspended for two years after a first-instance court found her guilty of receiving 40.5 million won in illegal political funds. The Changwon District Court also imposed a 1 million won fine and ordered the 40.5 million won forfeited, while acquitting her on charges tied to industrial-complex information and National Assembly policy-development funds.
The ruling is not final and can still be appealed.
