South Korea's presidential office says its first response to the DMZ mine blast is to establish the facts before deciding further measures. A senior communications official said the military investigation is continuing and that the government will act once the circumstances are clear.

President Lee Jae Myung also visited the injured soldiers and promised support for treatment, rehabilitation and continued military service. The approach puts fact-finding ahead of additional action while the investigation and armistice findings continue.
