President Lee Jae-myung said the government will use surplus tax revenue to accelerate the large-scale supply of public long-term rental housing for young people and middle-income households. He said permits and construction starts have increased, while new land development and the conversion of existing sites and buildings for residential use are also gaining speed.
Lee also instructed LH to provide purchase commitments for unsold housing units, but no budget total or confirmed supply volume was announced.
