A special prosecutor’s team investigating election-management allegations searched 17 locations on October 15, including the National Election Commission and several regional and municipal offices. The investigation concerns claims that hourly voter totals were entered falsely at 30 municipal election commissions during the June 3 local elections.

Prosecutors are also examining allegations that election-material storage contracts in Busan, South Gyeongsang and North Gyeongsang favored a particular company. The searches involved suspected electronic-record fabrication and obstruction of official duties, but the available evidence does not establish that manipulation has been conclusively proven.
