Special counsel prosecutors asked the Seoul High Court to sentence former President Yoon Suk Yeol to 30 years in prison in an appeal trial over a general transfer offense linked to the Pyongyang drone operation. They also sought a 30-year sentence for former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, five years more than the term requested at the first trial.
The special counsel argued that the accused military leaders used the operation to create a wartime pretext for emergency martial law, an allegation that remains the prosecutionโs position rather than a court ruling.
