The Education Ministry's basic plan keeps the reformed CSAT structure introduced for the 2028 admissions cycle. Korean, mathematics, social and science inquiry will not use the old elective-subject system, while Korean history remains mandatory. Students taking the 2029 CSAT, today's first-year high school cohort, are scheduled to sit the exam on Nov. 16, 2028, with score reports on Dec. 8.
2029 CSAT set for Nov. 16, 2028 with the no-elective format retained
The Education Ministry says current first-year high school students will take the 2029 college entrance exam on Nov. 16, 2028; scores are due Dec. 8.
