Sogang University has created a route for qualifying international graduate students in science and engineering to have 100% of their tuition covered, combining a Seoul-backed talent program with the university’s own scholarship. The offer applies to eligible foreign students entering natural-science and engineering graduate programs.
Students selected for the SOGANG RISE SURPASS TRACK can receive 50% of tuition through the Seoul ANCHOR Project and an additional 50% through the Sogang Global Scholarship. Together, the two components can eliminate tuition charges entirely. Admission fees and other required charges are not included, so the package should not be read as eliminating every cost associated with enrollment.
The Seoul ANCHOR Project is supported by the Ministry of Education and Seoul Metropolitan Government and includes an initiative to attract international talent for advanced future industries. Sogang’s program adds support beyond tuition, including academic stipends, incentives for research-paper publication, Korean-language development, internships and other study or career-development assistance.
That broader package matters because international graduates often face a second challenge after admission: turning a Korean degree into research experience or employment in Korea. Sogang says the track is intended to help students build familiarity with the country’s academic, research and industrial environment while they study.
What applicants should check
The university currently has roughly 2,000 graduate students, including about 250 international students, across 39 departments. Eligibility varies by program, and some applicants may need Korean or English test scores.
