Weather experts from across East Asia are meeting in Gyeongju on September 16 and 17 to strengthen cooperation on sand and dust-storm early warnings. The WMO-linked gathering covers real-time observation sharing, forecast-model comparisons and operation of a common regional portal. Korea’s National Institute of Meteorological Sciences says about 40 officials and researchers are taking part in person or online.
