Fuel prices at 226 service-station filling points managed by the Korea Expressway Corporation are set to fall by 100 won per liter during the Chuseok holiday from September 24 through 27. The discount will be measured against September 17 prices, according to the government package announced on September 18 in response to higher international oil prices and instability in the Middle East.

The temporary fuel-tax reduction is also being extended for two months through the end of November. During the same four-day holiday period, daytime electric-vehicle charging prices on highways are also due to be reduced when renewable-energy supply is relatively high. For holiday travelers, the immediate change is limited to the stated dates and participating highway facilities rather than a permanent nationwide retail-price cut.
