Daegu has begun a pilot ambulance service dedicated to long-distance transfers of high-risk pregnant patients and newborn emergencies. The city fire service designated a negative-pressure ambulance at Jungbu Fire Station for the program through December and equipped it with neonatal and pediatric ventilation gear. Officials say the service responds to rising long-distance transfer needs as advanced delivery and neonatal intensive-care capacity remains concentrated in a limited number of hospitals.
