The Supreme Court has reopened a path to state compensation for victims of the 1983 Daegu US Cultural Center bombing investigation. The court overturned part of a lower-court ruling that had denied compensation to some victims and sent the case back to the Seoul High Court. The decision comes 43 years after people caught up in the investigation were subjected to illegal detention, torture and imprisonment.
