Seodaemun-gu is piloting a 4.5-day workweek for all employees, but the program does not reduce the legal 40-hour week. Instead, the district is redesigning working hours through flexible scheduling under existing public-service rules. If the pilot settles successfully, Seodaemun plans to expand the system more actively from the first half of next year.
