South Korea’s health ministry has selected Namwon in North Jeolla Province as the site of a new national graduate medical school focused on training public-service doctors. The school is scheduled to begin classes in 2030 and produce 100 doctors a year, with graduates subject to 15 years of mandatory public service. Clinical training is planned around Namwon Medical Center and other public medical institutions nationwide.
