The Recording Academy said it will proceed with the Best Asian Pop Music Performance category despite BTS declaring a boycott. CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said the academy had consulted leaders in the Asian music community and found stronger support for creating the category. The award is scheduled to be presented at the 2027 Grammy Awards.
