The child support advance program will abolish its income threshold of 150% of median household income on October 29. From then, applicants can seek up to 200,000 won per month for each minor child regardless of income, until the child reaches adulthood.

However, the state has recovered only 12.94% of the amount advanced from noncustodial parents. The monthly support is about one-third of the cited 582,500-won child-rearing cost for a single parent raising one child.
