A health insurance pilot aimed at easing ALS care costs at specialized nursing hospitals is scheduled to begin in November. The plan would shift compensation from bed counts to the staff and resources actually used for each patient, according to a proposal reported to the Health Insurance Policy Deliberation Committee. The patient copayment and participating hospital list have not yet been finalized.
