Medical care and procedure footage recorded at domestic medical institutions was leaked to overseas illegal websites, according to a report. Health and Welfare Minister Jung Eun-kyung said during a parliamentary audit on October 7 that strengthening information security in healthcare was highly important and urgent. She said security protections were insufficient and called for the ministry and private medical institutions to jointly develop stronger safeguards.
