A Chinese man identified as a possible suspect in attacks on South Korean financial institutions has denied involvement, saying his mobile phone number was misused. Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike said its analysis pointed to a 26-year-old man in Guangdong, citing clues including the initials YY, residence information, education history, a phone number and a Telegram account.
Police said the claim of phone-number theft has not been confirmed and that they are continuing to secure evidence to identify the actual attacker.
