The Seoul Central District Court sentenced a former professor at a private university in Seoul to 18 months in prison for sexually assaulting a graduate student and detained him in court. The court also ordered him to complete 40 hours of sexual violence treatment and barred him for five years from working at institutions serving children, teenagers or people with disabilities.
The ruling considered the professorโs position of authority, noting that the student depended on him for academic supervision and evaluations.
