From November 27, South Korea plans to increase the paid portion of annual fertility-treatment leave from two to four days, according to a report on changes to employment law. Eligible workers will still be entitled to six days of leave a year, with the other two days unpaid.

The changes also introduce public support for qualifying workers at smaller companies, where the cost of taking leave can be a significant barrier. Employees arranging treatment should check how their employer will apply the amended rules once they take effect.
