An investigation into alleged bid-rigging involving election-station supplies has expanded to the National Election Commission and four related companies. Investigators searched five locations, including the commission, a ballot-supply company in Gimpo, and a company in Daegu that produces election-material sets, over suspected breach of trust and bid interference.

The inquiry concerns contracts worth about 5 billion won for polling-station supplies used during last yearโ€™s presidential election and this yearโ€™s local elections, and the allegations have not been established as fact.
