Busan Dongnae Police referred two teachers to prosecutors over allegedly collecting funds without registering with the relevant authorities. The elementary school teachers allegedly raised more than 30 million won through a teachersโ online community from March to May 2024 after posting a request to help a colleague. The money was given to a teacher who had been dismissed over allegations of sexually assaulting a student, while the fundraising post said he had unfairly left the teaching profession after a child-abuse report.
The referral concerns an alleged violation of the Donations and Fundraising Act and does not establish guilt in the alleged assault or fundraising case.
