Four relationship-violence deaths were reported over three days, involving former partners or spouses and victims or family members. In Gongju, a woman in her 50s was found dead in a man’s car after she had reported stalking in January and a neighbor had reported a disturbance in June, but police did not forward the cases because they considered them minor or said the parties did not want punishment.

In Jeonju, a woman in her 60s had made eight reports about stalking and domestic violence and received a restraining order, but no electronic ankle monitor was imposed before the accused man allegedly killed her. The cases show why repeated reports and existing protective orders need stronger risk assessment and more effective measures to keep alleged perpetrators away.
