Fifteen workers died in serious industrial accidents at Daebul Industrial Complex in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, over the past two years, according to data obtained from the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office by lawmaker Seo Wang-jin.
The complex is concentrated with high-risk businesses making ship equipment and vessel blocks, and falls and entanglement accidents have reportedly continued. Seo said strong safety measures are urgently needed as similar fatal incidents recur.
