Jeju police have sought an arrest warrant for a man in his 60s accused of killing a woman in her 40s who had reported him for stalking and sexual violence. Police changed the charge from ordinary murder to retaliatory murder under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes. Investigators also found indications that he had placed thinner and a weapon at the victim’s residence before the attack, while the warrant request includes special trespassing, preparation for arson in an occupied building, special arrest and attempted special confinement charges.
The suspect reportedly drank pesticide after the killing, according to the report’s headline.
