Gyeonggi regional bus unions have approved a strike with 97.7% support from participating voters, warning that work stoppages could begin with the first buses on October 30. The strike will proceed only if labor and management fail to reach an agreement at the final mediation meeting scheduled for October 29 at the Gyeonggi Regional Labor Relations Commission.

The planned action covers 4,130 buses and 854 routes operated by 29 companies, including 942 metropolitan buses on 63 routes connecting Gyeonggi Province with Seoul. The central dispute is a wage increase, so the disruption remains conditional on the outcome of the final negotiations.
