Police will publish the identity of a man in his 70s accused of setting fires at two buildings in Seoulโs Yeoksam-dong on November 3. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agencyโs disclosure panel cited the seriousness of the injuries, the cruelty of the alleged method, sufficient evidence, and the public interest in preventing repeat offenses.
Nineteen people were injured in the October 20 fires, including five seriously injured and 14 with minor injuries, according to reports. Police plan to add attempted murder to the existing arson-related charges and transfer the case to prosecutors on October 29.
